This museum quality, hand minted reproduction of the First Revolt shekel is stunning. The hand cut dies were made with hand made tools, made the same way as the die cutting tools in ancient times. It is made from one half ounce of .9999 gold. No original Bar Kochva shekels
were ever found made out of gold, so this item is unique, and is only available from us. These can be used for gifts, or as a reminder of the great men who gave their lives for G-d.
The original silver coins were made between the years 65-70 c.e., while the Holy Temple was still standing, when the Jews rebelled against Rome in order to free the Jewish people, to worship G-d without pagan influence.
On the obverse (right image) is a cup or chalice, said by numismatists to depict the cup used for bringing the Omer offering to the Holy Temple (Vayikra/Leviticus 23:10). The inscription, in ancient hebrew letters says Shekel of Israel. On the reverse (left image) is a branch with three pomegranates, one of the fruits for which the Land of Israel is praised(Devarim/Deuteronomy 8:8) . The inscription says Yerushalayim (Jerusalem) the Holy.
These coins' depictions show their love of the Holy Temple, their love of the Holy Land and their devotion to G-d.
